Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival Kunming
Flight Information:

Arrive in Kunming which has a nick name if “spring city” and meet with experienced English-speaking guide in the airport. And transfer by private bus to hotel. Then active freely. You can walk to Green Lake Park in the centre of Kunming by yourself.
-- Kunming is the capital of southwest China's Yunnan province, a primarily agricultural province of 45 million. Kunming has a population of five million and is located in one of the world's most geographically, ethnically, biologically and linguistically diverse regions. Situated at 1,900 meters (6,233ft) above sea level and 25° north of the Equator it has a rather unique and pleasant climate for a Chinese city.
Day 02 Kunming-Stone Forest-Kunming (B+L+D)
Sightseeing: the Stone Forest, the Green Lake, the Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway.
Special Experience: Taste the typical Yunnan food named Bridge crossing Noodles.

We will drive 86 km to the Stone Forest. There is a local saying: 'It is a waste of time not to visit the Stone Forest while visiting Kunming', which vividly expresses the deep love of the local people toward this world wonder. The quintessential karst landscape makes every tourist lost in wonder.
After lunch drive back Kunming to visit the landmark of Kunming-the Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway, which is located at the corner of Sanshi Road and Jinbi Road. And then, we will take a leisurely stroll along the Green Lake, a charming area of teahouses and small boutiques selling handicrafts and beautiful local paintings.
Day 03 Kunming-Shangri La (B+L+D)
Flight information: MU5933 Dep 07:00/Arr 07:45.
Sightseeing: the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, the Bita Lake & Shudu Lake and the Guishan Park.
Special Experience: Tibetan family Home-Made, Butter Oil Tea.

In the morning, take the flight from Kunming to Shangri La.
After checking the hotel, we’ll visit the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, the largest Tibetan monastery in Yunnan. And afterwards we'll go and visit the tranquil Bita Lake & Shudu Lake. After having finished touring the Bita Lake & Shudu Lake, we'll visit the Old Town of Shangri La and the Guishan Park.
Towards evening we'll take yak butter tea and participate in Tibetan dances in the home of a local Tibetan family.
Day 04 Shangri La-Tiger Leaping Gorge-Lijiang (B+L+D)
Sightseeing: the First Bend of the Yangtze River,Shigu Town, Tiger Leaping Gorge,.
Special Experience: Take dinner of local flavor with Naxi dance at a Naxi family.

From Shangri La, we'll drive about 100KM to Tiger Leaping Gorge of Yangtze River, the deepest gorge in the world. With 34 rapids of the Yangtze River, it is called the Jinsha in this area because we can find gold in the river.
After lunch we will drive 40KM more to visit the First Bend on the Yangtze River with imposing gorge scenery, and the Iron Chain Bridge in the Stone Drum town. The town of Stone Drum got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped like a drum. The scenery is magnificent as the road running through the Lijiang valley which is filled with wheat fields and drying haystacks. Late afternoon drive to Lijiang.
At last, we'll head for where traditional Naxi Village at the bank of Black Dragon Pool and take our dinner of local flavor at a Naxi family.
Day 05 Lijiang (B+L+D)
Sightseeing: Black Dragon Pool, the Dongba Museum, Lion Hill and Wangulou Tower, Mu’s Palace.
Special Experience: Naxi Orchestral and Show in Dongba Palace in Lijiang Old Town.

In the morning we'll head for the scenic Black Dragon Pool and the Dongba Museum to explore the rich Naxi minority culture. Afternoon you will drive to the top of Lion Hill behind the Lijiang Old Town. Climb up to the fifth floor of Wangulou Tower where you can see the whole old town. Walk down along the Lion Hill to visit Mu’s Palace which is the local chieftain’s former residence hundreds years ago. Rest day relax in Lijiang Old Town.
After dinner, we will attend the Naxi Orchestral and Show in Dongba Palace.the Lijiang Old Town.
(Optional: The whole day trip to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the second highest peak in Yunnan about 5,596 meters above sea level, take the chairlift to visit the Yak Meadow.)
Day 06 Lijiang-Dali (B+L+D)
Sightseeing: the Erhai Lake Cruise, Xizhou Town, the Three-pagoda in Chongshen Temple.
Special Experience: Taste the Bai Three Course Tea with ethnic dance and music.

After breakfast, travel (200 km - 4 hrs) south on the old road to the ancient city of Dali. If this day happens to fall on a Monday we will call in at Shaping for a visit to the colorful Bai market.
After lunch, we'll travel in the Erhai Lake by boat and visit Jinsuo Island. After landing, we will head for Xizhou Town to fully appreciate Bai-style architecture, taste their fragrant three-course tea and explore their distinctive culture.
And then, we will visit the Three-pagoda in Chongshen Temple, which is a typical historical symbol of Yunnan. It is also one of the oldest sublime architecture in South China. At last, we will visit the Old Dali Town, which is located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain.
Day 07 Dali-Liuku-200KM-Liuku
Sightseeing: Liuku Town

Today we will drive to Liuku which is the capital city of the Nujiang Lisu and Pumi Nationalities Autonomous Prefecture.
The Nujiang River is China's important river flowing from north to south. It has its source on the southern slope of the Tanggula Mountain Range in Tibet Autonomous Region, flowing across the Tibet Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province, with a total length of 2,816 kilometers and a drainage area of 324,000 square kilometers.
The name of the river is changed into the Salween River after flowing into Burma from China, and it finally empties into the Andaman Sea of Indian Ocean at the Moulmein. The upper reaches of the river are known as the Naqu River in Tibetan. The river is called Anurimei by the Nu ethic minority, Anu is the name of the Nu people called by themselves, the Rimei means the river, so Anurimei means the river dwelled by the Nu people.
Day 08 Liuku-100KM- Pianma -100KM-Liuku
Sightseeing: Pianma Port, the Pianma Museum.

After the breakfast you will drive to Pianma in Lushui County. On the way you can visit the Yaojiaping virgin forest and the Green Canyon. After lunch in Pianma, you will visit the Pianma Museum and the Four Part Singing show of Lishu nationality.
Overnight in Liuku.
Day 09 Liuku-248KM-Gongshan
Sightseeing: the Nujiang Grand Canyon

Drive from Liuku to Gongshan. On the way you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Nujiang Grand Canyon.
The 316-kilometer-long Nujiang River Gorge is flanked by two 4,000-meter-high mountains. The mountain peaks on the two sides have an average altitude of over 3,000 kilometers. The gorge is located in Yunnan Province in southwestern China, an area rich in ethnic minority culture. It is now a first choice for many domestic and foreign travelers.
Overnight in Gongshan.
Day 10 Gongshan- 44KM- Bingzhongluo-44km-Gongshan
Sightseeing: Bingzhongluo, Nujiang River (Salween River)

One full day excursion to Bingzhongluo, sightseeing includes the first bend of Nujiang River (Salween River), the stone house of the Nu Nationality, Peach Island, the Tibetan Puhua Temple. You will then have the chance to visit a minority household and experience the life of the local people.

Day 11 Gongshan-110KM-Fugong
Sightseeing: Nujiang River (Salween River)

Leave Gongshan and drive 110 km through the fascinating mountain areas to Fugong. Sightseeing includes a visit to a suspension bridge and a glide cable. Special Lishu food will be served during dinner. In the evening you will take part in a party with the local people.

Day 12 Fugong-135KM-Liuku
Sightseeing: Nujiang Grand canyon, Laomudeng Village

Return to Liuku. Enjoy your last day at Nujiang Grand canyon and visit Laomudeng Village and the bathhouse of Lishu Nationality. It is a tradition to welcome new year that all people take a bath together in the open hot springs by the banks of the river.

Day 13 Liuku-255KM-Tengchong
Sightseeing: the Hot Sea and Hot Fields.

In the morning you will drive about (255KM) to Tengchong which is the most fantestic part in Baoshan City, on the way, you will enjoy Nujiang River scenery. When you arrive at Tengchong ,drive 12KM more to the Hot Sea and Hot Fields, and you can shower in the hot spring pool, relax here about 3 hours.

Day 14 Tengchong
Sightseeing: Heshun Old Town, the Cluster of Volcanoes.

After breakfast,drive 23Km to visit the Cluster of Volcanoes in Tengchong, Heshun Township---Homeplace of Overseas Chinese,and the local market in the border.
Visit the Heshun Old Town in the afternoon.

Day 15 Tengchong- 230KM –Ruili
Sightseeing: the Dieshuihe Waterfall, the Graveyard of the National Heroes, the Pagoda wrapped inside tree, the One Single Tree Forest.

In the morning drive 1 Km to visit the Dieshuihe Waterfall, 1 Km to visit the Graveyard of the National Heroes. Sightseeing at the Pagoda wrapped inside tree, then drive to Ruili, on the way, visit Wanding, the smallest city in China, which is also a border with Burma. Also stop at the One Single Tree Forest, which is a very big banyan looks like a forest.
Overnight at Ruili Jingcheng Hotel 4 star
Day 16 Ruili-110km-Mangshi.
Sightseeing: Jingpo ethnic village, Night Market.

Visit a waterfall in the forest which is not far away from Burma, then visit a Dai village and a Jingpo village. After dinner, visit the prosperous Night Market which is really an attraction of Ruili, you will meet many businessmen from Burma, Laos, Thailand, India, Pakistan and Nepal. Many travelers come to this market to buy jade products.
Day 17 Mangshi-Kunming-Departure (B)
Flight Information: MU5735 12:15/13:10

In the morning drive to Mangshi and take the flightto Kunming for returning.
